Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about the practice
Straight answers about how Dr. Logan's practice works, what membership includes, and how to get started.
About the Practice
What kind of practice is this?
Dr. Logan runs a small, independent concierge-style family medicine practice in Santa Monica. After 16 years at UCLA Health, she transitioned to this model to offer more time with each patient, genuine availability, and true continuity of care. The practice is intentionally limited in size.
Where is the practice located?
The office is located in Santa Monica at 10th Street and Broadway — a few blocks from Dr. Logan's former UCLA location. She shares a well-designed office space with Dr. Alison Garb, a longtime Pacific Palisades physician now also practicing in Santa Monica.
Who does Dr. Logan see?
Dr. Logan's practice focuses on adult primary care. This includes patients looking for ongoing care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, women's health, and mental health support, among other services. Contact the practice if you have a specific question about whether Dr. Logan is the right fit.
Why did Dr. Logan leave UCLA?
Dr. Logan spent 16 years building patient relationships at UCLA Health. She left to create a practice where the structure of medicine — the time, the access, the continuity — actually matches the quality of care she wants to deliver. A large academic system has many strengths; unhurried primary care is not always one of them.
Membership
What is a concierge or membership-based practice?
A concierge practice charges a membership fee (paid monthly or annually) in exchange for a fundamentally different level of access and attention. The panel stays small, visits are longer, and you can reach Dr. Logan directly. The membership fee is separate from visit fees, which are charged per medical encounter.
What does the membership fee cover?
The membership covers your access to the practice: same-day urgent appointments, direct physician contact, continuity of care, and the time Dr. Logan sets aside for her patients. Specific inclusions and pricing are shared when you inquire — contact the practice for current details.
Is Dr. Logan currently accepting new patients?
Yes, a limited number of new patient spots are available. Because the practice is intentionally small, spots fill and this can change. Reach out through the contact form or by phone to check current availability.
Can I transfer from being a UCLA patient?
Yes. Dr. Logan welcomes patients who followed her from UCLA, as well as new patients. Records can be transferred from UCLA or any other practice.
Insurance & Billing
Does the practice accept insurance?
The practice is out-of-network with insurance plans. Medical visit fees are billed and submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Patients with PPO plans (as opposed to HMO plans) often receive partial reimbursement on covered services.
What is out-of-network billing?
Out-of-network means Dr. Logan does not have a contract with your insurance company. You pay the visit fee directly, and then Dr. Logan's office submits the claim to your insurer. If you have out-of-network benefits (common with PPO plans), your insurance may reimburse a portion of the cost. The membership fee itself is not submitted to insurance.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
HSA and FSA funds can typically be used toward eligible medical visit expenses. The membership fee's eligibility depends on how it is structured. We recommend confirming with your plan administrator. Contact the practice for specifics.
How do I find out the actual costs?
Membership pricing and visit fee structures are shared when you reach out to the practice. Dr. Logan's office is transparent about costs and is happy to walk you through what to expect before you commit to anything.
Getting Started
How do I become a patient?
Fill out the contact form on this site or call the practice at 214-864-3218. Dr. Logan's office will send you information about the practice, current availability, and membership details. If it's a good fit, you'll schedule your first visit.
What happens at the first visit?
New patient visits are typically 60 minutes. Dr. Logan reviews your full medical history, prior records, current medications, and anything else relevant to your care. There's no rushing. The goal is to actually understand your health picture before anything else.
Do I still need to keep my other insurance?
Yes. Dr. Logan's practice does not replace your insurance. Your insurance covers hospitalizations, specialist visits, imaging, labs at outside facilities, emergency care, and more. Keeping your insurance is important. Dr. Logan's practice supplements it — covering the primary care relationship in a way that most insurance-driven systems can't.
